He announced that Dubai will host for the first time the International Family Medicine Conference and Exhibition (IFM) which will be held next year in conjunction with Duphat Conference and Exhibition. The IFM will attract an enormous number of specialists in family medicine, general practitioners and primary health care.
Shaikh Ahmed said: “Duphat is a continuing education forum and platform for professional interaction and scientific discourse.”
He also had a tour in the exhibition and explored the latest pharmaceutical technologies displayed by national, regional and international pharmaceutical industry players. He was impressed by the continuous growth that Duphat achieves every year. “This tremendous turnout reinforces the role of Dubai as a regional hub for major international companies who are looking forward to promoting their products from Dubai to the Middle East and the world markets,” said Shaikh Ahmed.
Essa Al Maidoor, director-general, Dubai Health Authority said: “The Duphat Conference and Exhibition takes place in a time where the medical sector is witnessing a tremendous and rapid development within its subsidiaries in general and the pharmaceutical field in particular. The pharmaceutical sector has become a vital sector in the medical field which effects highly on the therapeutic process and assists in providing integrated services for patients,” he said.
“The DHA has been diligent to support this event throughout the years, and we believe that Duphat is the first of its kind in the Middle East, North Africa and East Asia regions. Duphat has become very popular among pharmacists and specialists working in the pharmaceutical field and its technologies. Duphat is growing year after year along with the accelerating development in the medical field which highlights the imperative role of the pharmaceutical field.”
“The DHA has started taking the necessary measures to begin applying the encoding system on the medicines in Dubai. This system will help monitoring and organising the consumption of medicine in Dubai in general and will also enhance applying the uppermost standards of quality and excellence in the pharmaceutical sector. We have to admit that the Duphat Conference and Exhibition achieved tremendous success in its previous editions and it is now an exceptional forum for continuing pharmaceutical education and a unique scientific and professional platform for pharmacists and professionals to interact and reflect positively on the health security and safety of patients in health institutions,” added Al Maidoor.
