Academica Electronic Portfolio (ePortfolio) is considered a student-oriented learning method. ePortfolio is created by a student of his/her course-related work such as artwork, essays, photographs, posters, and videos. In addition, ePortfolio includes other activities related to student’s experience like extracurricular activities, volunteer and employment experiences. Therefore, ePortfolio is a method of assessment that provides faculty ways for continuous collecting and assessing a student’s work, and gives the student and faculty an opportunity for evaluating the progress during a course. The importance of ePortfolio for pharmacy students as a method of learning and assessment is that it provides the student a way of reflection on his/her learning experience. In addition, faculty feedback is an essential part for an effective and productive ePortfolio in which there is a strong relationship between student’s reflection and faculty feedback. In conclusion, implementing ePortfolio will improve the education process in a pharmacy-based setting.

I am a Lecturer of Microbiology, and my research is focused on finding novel biotechnological techniques to investigate bacteriocins as a replacement for the traditional antibiotics. I laid the groundwork for the proposed research during my PhD studies by developing new methods for studying protein interactions in bacterial cells in collaboration with Manchester Institute of Biotechnology. I intend to continue in this field through my research opportunities as a faculty member at KSU. I also supervised research projects for Pharmacy students as their graduation projects involved studying the antimicrobial activities of different compounds against Grampositive bacteria. I plan to improve myself and grow my passion for teaching and research by using selflearning resources and collaborating with other researchers to establish a solid ground that can contribute to future science.
